Britain’s largest “Prairie,” or “Naturalistic,” garden.
Sussex Prairie garden opened to the public in 2009, just one year after planting. We count ourselves amongst a handful of large new gardens, designed and created in the 20th and 21st century, in Great Britain.
Surrounded by mature oak trees our eight-acre garden consists of a series of interlocking arcs of large planted borders in a naturalistic style. The borders encourage exploration and adventure and visitors are welcome to roam in amongst the mighty plants to further enjoy the experience.
After 20 years of designing and teaching about gardens, Juliet has established her Sussex Garden School to share her unique approach to plants and her love of landscape.
