What should I bring with me to the course?

Shortly before the workshop date, you will receive Joining Instructions via email. This will contain information on how to find the venue and anything specific to bring to your workshop. You may want something to take notes and a camera may be useful. We will provide plant books if required, but you may want to bring any that you are familiar with, or an iPad to refer to, if we are doing planting exercises.

Do I need to bring wet-weather clothes?

Our talks and courses are mainly classroom based, but being based at outdoor garden venues, you may want to explore afterwards.

Should I bring a packed lunch?

Sussex Prairie Gardens and South Downs Nursery both have cafes where you can buy refreshments, or you are welcome to bring your own lunch.

What if I am new to gardening and plants? Is the course for me?

Our tutors have many years of experience in teaching plants and gardening to beginners, as well as enthusiasts. Our workshops are informal, giving you plenty of opportunity to ask questions and share ideas with each other. Beginners are very welcome.

I am an experienced gardener – will I learn anything new?

Experienced amateurs, as well as professional gardeners often join our courses and learn a great deal. Our tutors have been creating gardens for many years and have a wealth of knowledge to share.

How do your gift vouchers work?

A Sussex Garden School gift voucher is a great gift for garden lovers! They are redeemable against any of our talks or courses. When your booking is received, you will be sent the voucher, so that you can give it, or it can be sent directly to the recipient.

I can’t make the workshop anymore, can I have a refund?

Tickets are refundable up to 6 weeks prior to the workshop, and after this we cannot give refunds.
