I wanted to say a huge thank you for an amazing first day of the ‘How to Garden Greener’ course. I come from a place of complete ignorance of all things gardening, having never had any outdoor space of my own until now. 

My learning preference is to be taught face to face, so I can ask questions and understand not only what to do, but why.

The first day, focused on pruning, has left me able to look at a range of shrubs and types of roses and see what condition they’re in, what sort of pruning needs doing and how to tackle the task. I now have the confidence and the skills to prune the roses in my garden to keep them and the neighbouring shrubs healthy and activated to bloom well this coming summer. 

If the rest of this course is as good as day 1, I’ll be well set up to be self-sufficient and enjoy tending to my garden and able to understand the reference books, when I need them.

I should add that everyone else in the group was far more experienced than I am, but it somehow still worked really well, and Jenny is a fantastic and calm, knowledgeable teacher.
