Join the craft trend and learn to create your own personalised art from flowers that you have harvested and prepared yourself from beautiful flower fields at a cut flower farm in the heart of Sussex.
Join us for a relaxing day surrounded by the beautiful flowers of Pitfield Barn Cut Flower Farm, and learn to harvest, prepare flowers for pressing, and be inspired to create your own personalised art.
Plan of the Day:The workshop starts with a demonstration by your tutor for the day, Wendy Darby, of the art of flower pressing, including how to select and prepare your flowers through the seasons.
You will choose a variety of fresh flowers from the farm garden to press in your personal flower press. The press and flowers will be yours to take home at the end of the day.
You will then work with pre-pressed flowers which we have pressed for you to create a range of decorative pieces including stationery and candles. Wendy will guide you through techniques for mounting and framing your pressed flowers, to make cards and other keepsakes so that you can use your new skills beyond the course day.
